Our Story . . .
The Meaford Bethany Church of the Nazarene had its beginnings in the Gospel Workers holiness movement “. . . organized by Rev. Frank D. Goff in 1918 . . . [This] church arose from an earlier group called the Holiness Workers.”
This church was originally organized as the Bayview Gospel Workers Church, located at that time on what is now Bayview Park on Highway 26, just east of the 11th Concession of St. Vincent Township, in 1904. The first pastor of this congregation was Rev. W. J. Morrison. A second Gospel Workers’ congregation was established in Meaford with Rev. Albert E. Armstrong.

Original sanctuary

In 1958, the Meaford Church (along with Gospel Workers’ congregations in Markdale, Feversham, Shelburne) joined with the Church of the Nazarene.
Under the leadership of Pastor Don Rossiter, the church was renovated in 1978-1979 to its' current state to add additional sanctuary, office and classroom space. The ‘new’ facility was dedicated on Sunday, October 8, 1979 with Dr. Eugene Stowe (General Superintendent) and Rev. Lorne MacMillan (District Superintendent).
In 2003, the church underwent further renovations, making the stationary sanctuary into a versatile sanctuary/auditorium.
Under the pastoral leadership of Pastors Joyce and Leigh Straiton, the church transitioned into a focal point within the local community. The church regularly hosts the Meaford Food Bank and Outreach twice weekly, Mental Health Walk-in Clinic, T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pound Sensibly), and 2 exercise groups once a week, as well as a monthly Foot Care clinic.

Is the Bible Reliable?
Part 6
THE 7 BIG QUESTIONS

This sixth study of this 7-part video series brings attention to the big question:
"Is the Bible Reliable?"
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing people what is wrong in their lives, for correcting faults, and for teaching how to live right. Using the Scriptures, the person who serves God will be capable, having all that is needed to do every good work.”
Hebrews 4:12 NCV
“God’s word is alive and working and is sharper than a double-edged sword. It cuts all the way into us, where the soul and the spirit are joined, to the center of our joints and bones. And it judges the thoughts and feelings in our hearts.”
Hebrews 4:12 NCV
